Being smart with money

 Hello, bloggers today in wga we are learning about who gets paid more and why.     So why do some people get paid more than others? I think that people can get paid more than others due to their gender or race or the certain job that they have I think it's kinda stupid but if you are good at a job and others aren't there is a higher chance that you will get paid more than others. For some reason 250 years ago there was a guy named Adam Smith who was obsessed with learning about money and how it works. He was really good at school so he decided to spend hours trying to learn the pattern about money and he made a really good book about it. That is all the info about jobs and money I have today hope you enjoy the post good-bye.

ESOL

 Hello, Readers!

Today I will be telling you guys what we have been doing in ESOL. So for the past 2 weeks, we have been watching a movie called the Wonder and we have also been reading the book called Wonder as well, the difference between the book and the movie is that when we watch the movie it gives us different feelings / of more understanding, it also shows us how good they were acting and what they were doing. 

When we were reading the book it was kinda not understanding and more of the background, but when we were watching the movie it was more of understanding and you could see what was happening in the background and you could see their feeling and act in what they were doing.

From my perspective, I think you should watch the movie instead of reading the book because it explains more of their feelings and it makes you understand more, it is also good if you want to read the book but it's your choice.

Textiles

Stem Project

I will be telling you guys about the work I did in physics/ Maths. My project is picking a house plan and calculating the voltage, Resistance, Current, and Area.

The aim of this project is to learn about the Current, Voltage, Resistance, and OHM'S LAW.

The house plan I picked was house plan A. I choose 5 light bulbs to go with my house. The room I choose for my house are a bathroom, a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a laundry room. Then I calculate the Voltage and Current of each light bulb and also measure the area of the house.

Each light bulbs in pathway 1 has 200 volts. The light bulbs in pathway 2 have 100 volts and every light bulb in pathway 3 is 100 volts. The Current in path 1 is 8 amps. The Current in pathway 2 is 4 amps and pathway 3 is also 4 amps. The total area of the whole house is 174 square metres.

Current (I) How quickly the electrons more (flow). Current is measured I Amps. The Current's symbol is I

Voltage (V) How much energy the electrons are carrying. Voltage is measured in volts. The Voltage symbol is V

Resistance (R) Used to slow/resist the flow of electrons (Current). Resistance is measured in ohms. The resistance symbol is R. Each light bulb has 25 Voltages and the battery has 200 voltages.

 I didn't really enjoy the project and If I had to do it again I would probably choose a different house plan but I don't want to do it again.

Discovery and Vaping

In health, we were set a task that required us to do make something about vaping:

Firstly we had to research the long term effect of vaping and the short term effects. After that, we started making our project which is a monopoly, like board games but about vaping. Our games teach about the long term and short term effects of vaping and how dangerous it can be. We choose to make this board game because we thought it was kinda cool to make a board game about vaping since we have never seen a board game about vaping before. Our board game is called Vape City.

I am really proud of the board games we made. It was challenging when getting the resources because we had to see what material we want to use to make the board game. Next time I will make sure I help more and participate in helping with the board game. I had a lot of fun playing and making it.

My Holiday

Today I will be telling you guys about what I did in the holidays, So what did I do on the holiday? 

Week 1 of Holiday:

Well, What I did the most was sleep, because I didn't have to wake up early every morning but some mornings I woke up early just in case, It felt really good getting full sleep not having to wake up early and getting ready to go to school.

I also didn't have to hear a bell ringing in my ears every hour to change class, it was really quiet as well which was good and quiet.

We also went travelling to the West Coast for a few days which was really nice, peaceful, and quiet beside you could hear the river, We also went to Greymouth it had a really nice view, besides all of that, when we came back to Christchurch we just stayed home and rested.

Week 2 of Holiday:

After we came back to Christchurch, We went to 4 birthday parties, Which was really nice we danced and had a lot of fun. For the first birthday party, it was my uncle's daughters birthday and they invited us and they had worked really hard on it and for the Food, they made Barbecue because that's our Traditional way to celebrate someone birthday or anything else. 

The other birthday parties were other people's and they had made Rice and Chicken as another way of presenting our Traditional way of celebrating something important.

Eye Dissection

Today I will be telling you guys what we did yesterday for Physic. So what did we do yesterday in Physic? We did a distinction on a cows eye, the purpose of this was to see how a humans eye looks like because a cows eye is really close to a human's eye, here is some part of the eye, First the front of the eye: The Cornea is the outer layer of your eye, The Pupil is where the light enters the eye, The Iris is where it controls how much light enters, The Lenz focuses light onto the Retina. the back of the eye: The Retina converts light to Electrical Impulses, The Optic Nerve carries the Electric impulse to the brain, Humourse is the liquid mush inside the middle which give the eye its shape, after we learnt this our teachers put us into groups and told us to wear some gloves and to be careful because the equipment we used we really sharp and defiantly something not to play around with, then the teacher gave us some the equipment and a tray to put the eye in then she came around with the eye and she gave it to us and we start there was some fat around it that we needed to get rid of so we did that and then we got to the eye and we pocked it with the scissors and then it started tripping black liquid out of it and it really stank I didn't really touch it I was just recording.

Energy Transformation

 Hello, Readers!

Today I will be talking about different types of energy, and the title of my blog is energy transformation which means when energy is passed from one type to another changes.

These are the different types of energy

1. Kinetic - Moving

2. Chemical Potential - Energy from food/fuel.

3. Heat - Temperature Girihg energy, Hot a lot, Cold not a lot

4. Light - Waves of light visible (Can see) or X-ray.

5. Gravitational - Effect of gravity pushing down.

6. Elastic Potential - Stretches to load up energy

7. Electrical - Anything using power.

8. Sound- Waves can hear. eg. Voice, Vibratoin.

So today we made a canan out of plastic cup and a ballon. so what we did was we cut the bottom of the plastic cup and we cut the top of the ballon and we put the ballon on top of the bottom of the cup and then we put marshmelos in them and we shot them but the point of this was to find out what types of energy did it transformed from so when we put the marshmelo inside we stretched the ballon and the energy for that was Elastic Potential and when we shot the marshmelo the energy was Sounds and Kinetic and then it went to Gravitational.

Commitment

Today I will be telling you guys about my commitment for this year, So far this year I have been showing commitment by arriving on time but not always, by staying focused on my work and finishing it on time and staying on the right site and not playing games or doing anything else. my work-ones for this term is to arrive at school on time and get to my next class by the first bell, something that is really difficult is that when we have intervals I am normally on the field and I can't really hear the bell so I'm always late that is something I need to work on.

9ICT Semester 1 Summary

 Hello, Readers!

Today I will be telling you guys what we have been doing in ICT for terms 1 and 2. So for the past 2 terms, we have been learning about Publisher, Excel, and Word, so for Excel, we have been learning about the functions like Autosum and some other stuff I can't really remember.

Term 1

During weeks 2 and 3 in term 1. We have been learning about Cyber Safety, and one of them was we had to make a Kahoot about us being safe on the internet and on social media.

In weeks 4, We have been using a tool called "Word" which was what we were using for term 1 week 4, One of the features we were using for "Word" was copy/paste, Spellcheck, Heading, and Search/Replace.

During weeks 5/6, We were learning how to manage our files, And move between files and folders. We have also been learning how to use symbols to replace words.

In weeks 7/11, we were also earning to use a feature in "Word" called "Drawing"  which is similar to Google Drawing, we have been using this feature to recreate posters and basic designs.

Term 2

In weeks 1/2, We have been learning how to create and use Tables, Diagrams, Texts, and Columns in "Word".

in Weeks 4/5 we have been using and learning a new app called "Publisher" It is similar to Google Slides and we have been using that to make calendars and Greeting cards.

In weeks 6/8, We have been learning in an app called "Excel" It is similar to Google Sheets and one of the features we used in it was called Autosum and Graphs, Which allowed us to add up the numbers of our choice and charts, It is a feature that allowed us to make our charts and a type of our choice.

My Reflection Of ICT:

"Word"

Personally" I really like "Word" because it was nice and easy I really liked doing things with shaps and features and some other stuff and honestly "Word" was the easiest one out of all of them.

"Publisher"

"Publisher" Was really fun making calendars and using some features and inserting images on my calendar it was really fun I really enjoyed it and it was nice and easy but this is better to use it for presentations.

"Excel"

To be honest, I really like using "Excel" because it was really inspiring and satisfying it was really enjoying using this.

Chemistry Evaporation

Today I will be telling you guys what we are doing in Chemistry for this week, So for this week we are talking about Evaporation, 

what is evaporation is when a substance gets heated up and it turns from liquid to gas.

Condensation is when you turn gas into a liquid by cooling it down.

what is Distillation is the scientific experiment used to show the processes of evaporation and condensation.

the aim is to use Distillation to separate out the dissolved sugars in coke or coke zero and to see what the liquid looks like after we separate the sugars.

CONCENTRATION

Today I will be telling you guys what we are doing today in science, so today in science we are talking about Concentration, what is concentration, it's a measure of how much solute has been dissolved into the solvent. Or In other words - how much solute there is in the solution.

We can measure in two ways: 

• How dilute something is…. (how weak it is)

• How concentrated something is…. (how strong it is

what is dilution, making something less concentrated. There will be less particles in the liquid.

Science Filtration

Today I will be telling you guys what we are doing so today we are doing a Mini experiment about filtration. Filtering is about separating different particles and things and sizes. can all mixtures be filtered, no because all particles are the same sizes, now we are making a mixture and separating it, the liquid is copper sulfate it is light blue, the other one is sodium carbonate it is colourless it has no colour they are both liquids and they are both transpernt, at the end I think it is going to separate and I don't think it will still be the same colour I think it will both be very light blue. 

The Method: 

1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.

2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate. 

3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel

4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask. 

5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel. 

6. Observe what happened.

after we mixed them together they went dark cloudy blue and after that we mixed it and them slowly pored it in and it came out white first but then it slowly started changing back to very light blue and that was the resoulets.

what happened was when we added both of the liquids together they both turned into dark blue because it wasn't copper sulfate or sodium carbonate anymore it was copper cardonate.

Today I will be telling you what we have been doing in Hurumanu 1 Film Studies. So in film studies, we have been watching a movie and writing SEXXY paragraphs on the slide for the hunt of the wilder people.

Here is my SEXXY paragraph:

In the film for the wilder people Ricky is the main character who goes through some personal growth, in the beginning of the film Ricky was a thug, he was doing graffiti, burning things, stealing things and other bad stuff. He was a foster kid, at the ending of the film Richy change into a better person and found a loving family and has a friend for life. This makes the audience think that Ricky did all of this is because it's sad that he doesn't have an actual loving family and moving houses to houses, the director made Ricky change as progress because if Ricky stays the same the film wouldn't be interesting. The talk is a shot where you can see the characters clothes and what he's wearing. I think people should watch this film because it will inspire them to change into a better person.

ESOL

Today I will be telling you guys what we have been doing in ESOL today. So today we had been playing some games and we have been writing a story and other fun activities and like writing one-word challenge so like what you have to is there are six people in your group and you need six pieces of paper one each and what you are going to is your gonna write one word and your gonna go clockwise and pass it to the next person and you have to make the sentence make sense so that the teacher can read it after that we played a game called alphabet story what you have to do is write each word with the next alphabet word. today I learnt to work with other people that i didn't know.

Disection of a Heart

Today I will be telling you guys what we have been doing in biology for the past few weeks. So for the past few weeks, we have been dissecting animal parts. 2 weeks ago we did a chicken leg and this week we did a heart well not our heart but a sheep's heart because it's similar to our heart almost. The purpose of this is so we can see how the heart works and how it looks like outside of our body. 

Step by steps,

1. So first you grab some newspaper and lay it on the table,

2. After you wear some plastic gloves and you go and grab you tray where you can put your heart in,

3. After you have done all of that the teacher will give you some equipment and your heart so you can use it to cut and see in the heart,

4. On the outside of the heart, you will see that there is some fat around the heart so as to protect it.

5. Then the teacher will tell you to find the right and the left side of the heart,

6. Then she will tell you to start cutting and finding the important parts of the heart.

To be honest I did like this dissection because we got to see everything around the heart and on the inside.

ESOL Writing

Today I will be telling you guys what I have been doing for the past couple of weeks so for the past couple of weeks I have been doing ESOL. At ESOL we have been doing like spelling wrong words right and writing different thing for the alphabetical orders all of that it’s not easy or hard it’s just that I need for my learning and here is writing that we did today and we had to use these three words but I could only add two and here it is, By the way, this is just a made-up story its not real it was just an activity I just wanted it simple.

So last week one of my neighbors moved in the next house beside us, so I was very shy and nervous to talk to them so once when I came back from school my mum told me that I had to take some (Cornucopia) to their house at that moment I froze and thought what was I going to say I can't just say here is some food I have to ask them a question maybe how is your day? No, maybe, How are you? That could work so I got ready and I was going to meet my new Neighbor, I was nervous but also excited that I was going to meet them for the first time. I left the house and I walked over. I stood in front of the doorway nervous but I knew I had to be (courageous.)

Athletics Day

So on Athletics day I was doing competitive and me tasks wore first I was doing High jump, Long jump, Discus, and Shot put and I just wanted to say that I had a really fun day out there I did my best becasue this only happens once a year, we got free ice block and there was all so a picnic going on, there was so much food and they all looked so delicoise and yum. ESOL / What I like to do in the Weekdends

Hello, Readers!

Today I will be sharing with guys what I'd like to do on the weekends. So on the weekends, on Saturday nights I like to watch movies and stay up to 1 or 2 o'clock. I like to watch movies on Netflix and I like to watch by myself, I really like to watch Horror movies. I'd like to sleep and wake up very late in the morning. When I wake up from sleep I go and make myself some eggs to eat. After that, I like to go and take my brothers to the playground because they wake up earlier than me. After spending some time at the playground we go home and just rest, around 1 or 2 my dad comes home from work and we go swimming at Julie Park, when we go swimming I like to go to the spa and just relax in the warm water, after we come back home from Jullie park we just rest and eat some food and we watch some tv, and then we go to sleep, on Sundays me and my family like to go on a vacation and spend time going far places like West Coast, Timaru, and Akaroa.
